Claripoint's approach to the market is reflected in the technology we have implemented across all our applications over the last 6 years. We're focused on developing technology that is accessible, robust and easy to use.
Accessible & Reliable
Core to our "less is more" approach is accessibility. We recognise that the majority of computer and internet users have computers systems that may be a few, even several years old.
Consequently, we implement technologies that make the smallest possible IT demands; our key products use the lowest common denominator to support the widest possible potential user base.
Web conferencing audiences demand an immediate login and connection process when receiving a remote sales pitch or joining a seminar. They won't hang around downloading software and setting up their PC.
Our users can access our services virtually regardless of the type of operating system, firewall or internet connection they may have.
Connection technology
Our web conferencing application Vista requires no software downloads at the audience end, ensuring the highest possible level of systems compatibility.
When audiences login, Vista employs a unique auto browser test that then selects from one of three available connection technologies. It can then support each client independently of the others, regardless of their bandwidth, operating system, browser or operating system. Each audience member then receives content at the best speed their system can support, without slowing down other conference attendees.
Java Applets are "optional" for the audience, thereby getting round most of the common security issues associated with presenting to audiences behind a firewall. Minimising the need to use Java for live web applications reduces this login process and increases the first time connection rate and overall reliability.
2004 saw Vista achieve 997 successful connections per 1000 attempts; an industry beating performance and one that dramatically reduces support costs.
See our White Paper for the other benefits of avoiding Java.
Playback employs a Java Applet based audio Player but still has a connection success rate and ease of use that is higher than that of propriatory players such as Real, Windows Media Player or Quicktime.
In a similar way to Vista, Playback applications can be hosted by Claripoint or we can build systems within a customer's network, typically for knowledge bank type applications.
Application delivery
Applications can be delivered on an Application Service Provider (ASP) basis or through outright purchase of the server side software for setup on the client network. Both avenues have advantages.
The ASP service means that you simply need a web browser and an internet connection to access the applications we supply. The necessary software resides on our resilient network of servers and there are no complex IT considerations. See our minimum system requirements and run a browser check.
Setting up the software on client servers enables the client more flexibility and the ability to integrate with existing systems.
In both cases a fully re-branded version and embedding Claripoint applications and entry pages within your existing website are all possible.
