Doctors.net.uk is the UK's leading portal for knowledge bank services, advice and networking to the medical profession. Doctors.net.uk also work closely with the General Medical Council, the Department of Health and the National Health Service. |
| Uses: |
Time and work load pressures often hinder Doctors from being able to travel to conferences and be up to date with current thinking in a particular medical field.
In conjunction with Doctors.net.uk and the Department of Health, Claripoint have provided Doctors within the NHS with Playback, an application that records Expert presentations and makes the information easily available to Doctors throughout the country via the internet.
Vista is also used for live remote briefings from senior managers and executives. The technology allows Doctors and health specialists to have interactive "real time" presentations without having to leave their surgeries or hospitals. |

The Royal College of Physicians' Information Laboratory (iLab) is a pilot project funded by the Department of Health and the Welsh Assembly Government. Its purpose is to enable direct access to centrally held hospital activity data from England and Wales for use by clinicians. The iLab is situated at the University of Wales in Swansea. |
| Uses: |
Better use and understanding of hospital data is the main objective and Vista enables clinicians to engage with the iLab from remote locations. Although the inherent software architecture of Vista provides a high degree of security, SSL (128 bit) encryption and a pass code protected login process have been implemented for added protection. |

| Uses: |
Iomega primarily use Vista in the sales environment. It enables managers to brief their sales teams remotely saving travel time and money and enabling salespeople to focus more of their efforts where they're needed most - on their customers.
Salespeople also use Vista to give their customer calls more impact, helping them to illustrate sometimes complex concepts on a 1 to 1 basis. Iomega have set up Vista to give the salesperson access to a range of PowerPoint slides that they have random access to so that they can get the relevant information on the client screen, fast. Addiction Today is published by the Addiction Recovery Foundation (ARF) and is the leading UK and European publication for the treatment of drug addiction. The journal's subscription base consists of treatment providers (agencies and private practitioners), purchasers (drug action teams, probationers and psychiatrists) and influencers (government & media) and other world leading experts in the field of drug addiction causes and treatments. |
| Uses: |
The first UK / European Symposium on Addictive Disorders (UKESAD) was held in May 2004 and was organised and run by ARF in partnership with other leading charities in the field. ARF wanted to capture the key speakers and make the complete presentations, including PowerPoint slides available on-line and on CD for training purposes.
Claripoint won the contract for a complete “turnkey” solution from capturing the speakers on audio and video, through to digitising and encoding the content for publication. Sales of the presentations will enable ARF to continue its valuable work, which includes operating support lines for those trying to tackle their addictions. |
